The Knockout Cup is played in the format of the real FA cup, one person versus one other and the person who scores the most prediction points in the round goes through to the next round and the loser is eliminated.
If any games finish in a draw, the result will be decided by a 'penalty shootout'. The first 5 matches on your predictions list will count as the 'penalties'. Who scores the most points in these 5 matches goes through to the next round. Joker points will NOT count as doubled in penalty shootouts. If the scores are still level, we go to sudden death. Whoever scores the most points in the 6th game on the list will win. If it's still level, we move on to game 7 and this pattern will continue until we have a winner. If still level after all games have been taken into account, It will be a replay on the following prediction round.

If 2 players that are playing against each other fail to submit any predictions, then both will be eliminated from the Cup.

We have 48 entrants in the league and we need to get the Cup competition down to 32 players. This means that there will be 16 Byes in the 1st round. You can see which 16 players got a Bye in the draw below.
No need to be disappointed if you didn't get a bye this time around as there are 3 of these Knockout Cup competitions throughout the season. The 16 players who have byes in this first Knockout Cup will be exempt from getting a bye in the last two Cups. 16 new players will get a bye in the 2nd Knockout Cup and the remaining 16 players who didn't get a bye in the first 2 Cups, will get a bye in the 3rd one. Basically all 48 players will get a bye in the Knockout Cup whether it be in the first, second or third competition.

I hope that is easy enough to follow. If it makes it easier to understand, I have done the draw for all three Knockout Cups so I could post all of them so you can see what I mean. Just let me know if you'd like me to do this.

First round of the first Knockout Cup is Friday 3rd October.
